Cincinnati Restaurants Open On Mondays

We've all been there.

It's Monday night and your stomach is growling. Or worse, you have out-of-town work colleagues to entertain. The 9-5 crew may have just kicked off their workweek, but many eateries in Downtown Cincinnati are enjoying their day off. And we're left scampering to find ways to fill our tummies (and impress our guests).

Don't let your dinner conundrum turn into a case of the Mondays. Here's a collection of spots that keep their doors open every first worknight of the week.

Open til 10:30pm

You know what they say, "Menu items say a thousand words." In the spirit of that ancient wisdom, we're just going to hit you with a quick, tip-of-the-iceberg list. Aaand go! To start things off: duck leg rillettes, fried brussels sprouts, or potato gnocchi. Entrees: crispy skin red fish or heritage pork loin. And for dessert: apple & pecan buckle. And trust us, there's a lot more where that came from.

Open til 10pm

Consistently ranked among Cincy's top restaurants, this spot takes contemporary Italian to artful heights while still remaining unpretentious. Props for that alone! Combine the restaurant's various dining spaces with the marvels that stream out of their kitchen, and you have yourself a next-level Monday-eve treat. (Oh, and sleep ye not on the #BoloMonday special: house salad, bowl of bolognese, and a basket of bread all for $15. Seriously. It's worth a taste.)

Taqueria Mercado
Open til 9pm

Every Monday deserves a margarita. Or two. Couple that with 11 different kinds of a la carte tacos (chicken, steak, brisket, or chorizo, to name a few) sizzling fajitas, or any number of their specialty platters, and your evening will turn from drab to caliente! Great for vegetarians as well. Get any of the staples, such as tostadas, enchiladas, or quesadillas, loaded up with everything but the meat. Or for something different, try the veggie tamales: a medley of veggies wrapped in a corn dough and husks.

Krueger's Tavern
Open til 12am

The new guy on the OTR block, this American/German eatery has made a supremely confident showing during its first month. Its owners (the folks behind Bakersfield and The Eagle OTR) probably have a bit to do with that, but so does the stellar menu. Stop by for the newness, stay for the killer sandwiches, brag-worthy sausages, top-notch bar, and on-point service.

Open til 12am

OTR's reigning hotspot has been packin' 'em in and treatin' 'em right for a couple of years now. And Mondays are no different. Swing by for the queso, tacos, tequila, and atmosphere that's still worth every bit of the buzz.

The Eagle OTR
Open til 12am

The Eagle's claim to fame: fried chicken, beer, and good times. And yes, the chicken's so good it'll make the South pack up its bags and cross the Ohio. But that's not the only brand in the flavor fire. From sandwiches and sides (Oh, that mac n' cheese!) to brews and desserts, this spot's got the goods.

Meatball Kitchen
Open til 9pm

Stuff yourself with a hearty meatball sub, pasta and meatballs, meatball burger, or a meatball salad. Sense a theme here? Each meal is build-your-own style, with your choice of beef, spicy pork, turkey, or vegetarian meatballs and a selection of five sauces. Six mouthwatering side dishes round out the menu (kale salad or Sriracha sweet potatoes, anyone?), along with a rotating selection of gourmet cupcakes. Local beers and wine are on hand too.

Keystone Bar & Grill
Kitchen open til 11pm

Catch a cab or take the TANK bus to Covington for Keystone's infamous Monday night half-price mac 'n cheese special. Keystone serves up a heaping portion of gooey mac n' cheese in a hot skillet, blended with nontraditional savories (BBQ chicken and bacon, buffalo chicken and bleu cheese, pesto and tomatoes, or brisket and mushrooms). You can build your own mac as well. Keystone also offers a full-service bar, so feel free to whet your whistle while your entree is prepared.

Bouquet Restaurant & Wine Bar
Open til 10pm

Whether you have yet to try Bouquet (doing so, by the way, should probably be at the tippity top of your list) or you're an aspiring regular, swing by this Mainstrasse mainstay on a Monday. You'll get a little bit more of that reknowned datenight vibe (not to mention the impeccable food and impressive service) all to yourself. Nothin' wrong with that.

Open til 9pm

For the sushi lover, FUSIAN is a must. This walk-the-line style eatery allows customers to create their own specialty roll, which comes sliced into 10 huge pieces. Choose from nine proteins, including favorites like shredded crab, shrimp tempura, salmon, and tuna. Not a seafood fan? Try the shredded steak, chicken, or tofu. Seven veggies, plus ten sauces and toppings, round off your roll and leave you with a casual, customized, healthy meal.

Open til 10pm

Whether it's a Monday night happy hour, dinner date, or meal with co-workers, Arnold's hits all your needs: casual, intimate, and deliciously memorable. This spot (a.k.a. the oldest bar in Cincinnati) is known for its burgers and pasta dishes, but don't overlook the entrees. The blueberry chicken and turkey dinners will fill you up like no other in the city. Check the schedule for live entertainment; oftentimes you'll find your new favorite local band playing in the courtyard.

A Tavola
Kitchen open til 10pm

Get sliced with an artisan pizza in Over-the-Rhine. A Tavola tosses up 15 delectable, chef-inspired, wood-fired pizzas, such as the classic margherita, the fig jam & prosciutto, or the brussel sprout with carmelized onion, artichoke, pesto and goat cheese. Or you can always go the build-your-own route. Pick from the restaurant's wide selection of toppings or keep it classic with a hearty meat-lovers or four cheese pie.

Akash India
Open til 9:30pm

When you've got a craving for saag or tandoori chicken that just can't be tamed, Akash has you covered. With 18 vegetarian curry entrees and 32 chicken, lamb, or seafood curries, you're sure to find a favorite. Couple it with some toasty pieces of naan (garlic, cheesy, or original) and you're set!

The next time you're downtown and suffering from the Monday munchies, reach for this list. You'll never leave your visiting colleagues hungry again.
