There’s no shortage of places to go for a great bite of food around here. Because you’re reading Cincinnati Refined right now, I’m going to assume you know exactly what I’m talking about.
But not even the most diehard Millennials can eat out every meal. I know it’s blasphemy, but you gotta use that dining room table (or ottoman) sometimes. It doesn’t have to be cereal, or PB&J sammies, or leftover casserole either.
And you needn't resort to over-packaged (dare I say wasteful) options like the many pre-packaged, mail-based dinner subscription services that currently exist. Especially not when there’s A Forkable Feast right around the corner.
I love these guys. I’ve been to the store many times. I can vouch for their quality.
Randy Bloc and Stu Schloss started A Forkable Feast as a catering company. They still do catering, but now there’s a storefront, a pantry, and a cafe to go along with the it. Their Midwest Culinary Institute degrees have certainly helped, but A Forkable Feast’s success is likewise attributable to the innovative concept at its heart: restaurant-quality, ready-to-eat meals that only require rewarming.
In all, they offer:
- Specialty sandwiches
- Brick oven pizzas
- Fresh salads
- Gourmet meals
- Pantry items
- Delicious desserts
SEASONAL AND LOCAL
This is where we talk about a few buzzwords that are exceptionally important to some of us: "seasonal" and "local."
A Forkable Feast has a new menu every few months to take advantage of what's in season. All meats are prepared locally in their commercial kitchen, and all salad dressings, sauces, soups, and stock are made in-house.
They also offer meals conforming to dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free.
You know what I just realized? It's a play off of a-fford-able. I mean, that makes sense, right? That's what we're going with.
