1. Taste of Belgium

Everyone knows this ever-growing collection of eateries for its fabulous Belgian waffles, but did you ever notice the dozens of desserts that T.O.B offers on the daily, too? These guys get it when it comes to sugar fixes, and while the delights change every day, you can count on finding tarts, puddings, macarons, and a whole bunch of goodness in the case.

2. Macaron Bar

And speaking of macarons... You'll be hard-pressed to find anywhere in the Cincy area with more varieties of this beloved French treat than this OTR bakery. You want it? They've got it. We're talking lime, lemon, chocolate, Earl Grey, raspberry, strawberry, pistachio, salted caramel, butterscotch you get the picture. When it's time for macarons, it's time for Macaron Bar.

3. Cone Zone Creamy Whip

Looking for one last dip into the summertime classics? Head to this Westside mainstay. The blizzards, sundaes, slushies, fresh-made waffle cones, dip tops, and (for all you dairy-free folks out there), Dole Whips have made this shop a bona fide Cheviot fixture. Just make sure you head over by October 11, or you'll be stuck waiting for the doors to open again next spring.

4. Old Milford Parlor: Coffee & Ice Cream

This adorable storefront in Old Milford is an absolute sweet-tooth destination. Think of it as a "classic creamy whip meets new-school attitude" hybrid, with a few time-honored cookie recipes and a blast of caffeine thrown in. You know... just for good measure.

5. The Bonbonerie

An undisputed pillar of the Queen City sweet-tooth scene, The Bonbonerie stays current, relevant, and very much in demand by churning out the classics with loving, delicate expertise and just a touch of whimsy.

6. Holtman's Donuts

Although this donut shop was established a while back (with its first store opening in Loveland in 1960), it really started to pick up steam after opening a location in Over-the-Rhine's Gateway Quarter just a few years ago. But fear not! Whatever it is that makes their donuts so magical has, of course, remained the same. And that's why no dinner in OTR is complete without a pit stop at Holtman's.

7. O Pie O

This East Walnut Hills bakery may be relatively new to the Cincinnati culinary scene, but O Pie O's handmade pies (which range from sweet to savory and feature delicious seasonal ingredients) are already making waves. Oh, and they serve brunch, too. Suh-weet!

8. Insomnia Cookies

Sometimes the need for sugar hits late, late, late at night. If that tends to be the case with you & your pals, this bakery has ya covered. Founded in a dorm room in 2003, this rapidly expanding company specializes in delivering warm, fresh cookies to individuals, companies, and partygoers right when those late-night cravings hit. Choose your flavor, point, click, and eat.

10. Sweet Petit Desserts

This OTR bakery specializes in tantalizing two-bite treats. Stop here for delectable chocolate-covered Oreos, macaroons, petit fours, tartlets, and more. Desserts are sold by the dozen and half dozen.

11. Streetpops

Popsicles. They might seem like a summer-only thing, but Streetpops's delightful flavors prove that if it's good enough, a bit of sweetness on a stick can be an all-the-time thing. What flavor does your heart desire? ... Strawberry mint? Apple pie? Bananas foster? Lemon buttermilk? Chocolate chili pepper? If you can conceive it, Streetpops can achieve it.

12. Happy Chicks Bakery.

Vegan. Flavor. Explosion. Get ye unto Northside and try a bite. The cupcakes are definitely the reigning crowd fave, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Order up a cup of Cluxton Alley Coffee and dig into this light & bright eatery's selection of sweets, savories, breakfast dishes, and lunch items (soups, salads, sandwiches, etc.). Or just beeline it there on Saturday morning for that week's donut flavor du jour.

13. The Sweeterie

Mariemont villagers have long known about this tucked-away store near the square, but this Eastside gem is bringing in folks from far and wide as well. Specializing in cupcakes and cookies, The Sweeterie serves up the classics; but it's no slouch when it comes to adventurous flavors, either. We're talking about triple-chocolate-fudge cookies, caramel apple cupcakes, and red velvet delights. And that's just for starters. Stop in and see what's popping out of the oven today.

14. Graeter's Ice Cream
