If you travel through the intersection of Eden Park Drive and Gilbert Avenue, you'll notice the Cincinnati Art Museum has a brand new "red carpet" of sorts. 164 tastefully arranged steps now connect the intersection with the Art Museum's parking lot nine stories above. Known as the Art Climb, the first phase of the staircase formally opened in early May and features picnic tables, benches, and several sections with attractive views of the land below. Emersion Design and Human Nature are responsible for the architecture and landscaping. Turner Construction built the staircase. Future phases will include the addition of sculptures to the land surrounding the Art Climb. / Image: Phil Armstrong // Published: 5.11.20
At the time of this writing, the Cincinnati Art Museum is temporarily closed, but the stairs are open. While using the stairs, remember to maintain proper social distancing. The Cincinnati Art Museum is fully accessible, but this staircase is not. / Image: Phil Armstrong // Published: 5.11.20
Though it's beautiful on a blue-sky day, the Art Climb really shines at night. / Image: Phil Armstrong // Published: 5.11.20
