Earth to Kentucky is a niche Covington shop that offers a variety of toys, art, t-shirts, and more. Many shoppers have described it as “the childhood bedroom of their dreams.” Co-owner Dustin Benzing and his family describe the shop as a labor of love, a place where they curate fun and unique items for collectors and fans of the pulp sci-fi realm. We carry designer, vintage, and bootleg toys as well as prints, paintings, and t-shirts designed for our shop by some of our favorite artists. We stick to a general theme of pulp sci-fi and old monster movies, but the main theme is just anything we like. We're fans of outsider/folk art, so there's some of that in the store and of course we have some Kentucky-themed merchandise. Colonel Sanders is our patron saint. -Dustin Benzin, co-owner / Image courtesy of Earth to Kentucky // Published: 11.16.20
Benzing says, “The toy community, especially, is such a supportive one, and that enthusiasm is contagious.” The shop has experienced a warm welcome from toy collectors since opening in September 2020. / Image courtesy of Earth to Kentucky // Published: 11.16.20
