<p>Brazee adapted their business model this year to include at-home glass kits you can create anytime. They have been popular among all age groups and used for birthday and bachelorette parties as well as fundraising opportunities. They plan on launching the kits nationally so customers will be able to send them to family and friends. "This was a dream of ours pre-COVID, and we are so excited to reach families beyond Cincinnati with art glass," Leah says. "Also, we are working hard on some exciting educational kits. We are already a resource for families and teachers, so we are developing a new line of kits specifically for supplementary art education with real educational content to help during this time." / Image: Elizabeth A. The studio will be open for ornament and gift-making this holiday season. Every year, hundreds of local families visit to make glass ornaments as part of their holiday tradition. Right now, you can sign up to make their Halloween glass stakes (pumpkin, ghost, black cat, or bat) that can stand upright in your Jack-o’-lantern . / Image: Elizabeth A. Lowry // Published: 10.10.20
<p>On any given day you'll find students at the studio who are there for a glass workshop, established glass artists looking to purchase materials or rent a kiln, or new clients meeting for a large-scale design project. The studio is also home to 25 professional artist studios and a gallery. It’s also a Bullseye Glass Resource Center. Bullseye Glass is a Portland-based glass manufacturer that supplies beautiful, raw art glass designed specifically for glassmakers. / Image: Elizabeth A. Lowry // Published: 10.10.20</p>

You can find Brazee's glass art prominently on display at all three Sleepy Bee Cafe locations (Oakley, Blue Ash, and Downtown), where artists created everything from the glass ceiling installations, chandeliers, wall tiles, art, and signage. Their work can also be seen locally at the Cincinnati Zoo, UC Medical Center, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, The Banks, Blue Manatee Literacy Project, Fifth Third offices, Arby's, and in many private residences. / Image: Mackenzie Frank // Published: 10.10.20
<p>"We have worked really hard to try to make 'glass art' accessible to anyone," Director Leah Busch Rockel says. "There are not many studios in the country who have reached the number of people we have with our classes and kits, especially children and families. We want everyone to feel welcome and to have the opportunity to be creative in a new material." / Image: Elizabeth A. Lowry // Published: 10.10.20 </p>
Owner Sandra Gross wanted to combine Brazee's educational mission with her dedication to green construction and ecological conservation. To that end, Brazee Street Studios' buildings are LEED Silver certified and feature a state-of-the-art direct grid photovoltaic solar panel system. In addition, the landscape around the buildings offers a monarch butterfly conservation waystation, a bioswale rain garden, beehives, and a garden full of native plants and prairie glasses specific to their Oakley neighborhood. / Image: Elizabeth A.
