Mother of Mercy High School was an all-girls, private Catholic high school located in Westwood. School was in session in the building for the last time in spring of 2018 and closed at the end of the school year due to declining enrollment. After closure, faculty and students moved to McAuley High School in College Hill to form Mercy-McAuley High School. Cincinnati Public Schools purchased the building after Mercy moved out and poured millions of dollars into improvements. Today, it's known as Gamble Montessori High School. When it was still Mother of Mercy, the first permanent school building on the premises was completed in 1923, and later expanded in 1928. Known locally for being architecturally significant, it was designed by the firm of Samuel Hannaford & Sons years after the architect of the same name had passed.
