We feature a lot of homes on this site, and that involves speaking with a lot of realtors like the fabulous Amy Moeller of Sibcy Cline. I asked her for something surprising, something that would “wow” me... something unexpected.
She showed me this Mary Cassinelli-designed West Side home, a place of such exquisite detail that you’ll think you’ve been dropped in the middle of France. (Hats off to you, Amy.)
And when it comes to 5925 Orchard Hills Lane, it really is all about the details — stained-glass transoms, stone-arched entryways, limestone fireplaces, French doors, and shimmering crystal teardrop chandeliers.
The pictures in the gallery offer a wonderful glimpse into this home. But trust me, it’s even more impressive in person.
5925 Orchard Hills Lane
Tucked among private rolling hills on four acres of land, this French Normandy feels rather as if it’s nestled in the French countryside. It’s easy to forget you’re just minutes from Downtown Cincinnati, Mason, and all the major highways.
You’ll notice the iron window boxes, gates, and rails from the facade, as well as a 25-ft. outdoor chimney and the rounded stone tower characteristic of French Normandy design. Enter through a six-panel door to find gorgeous wood floors and plastered walls, courtesy of Cincinnati’s Gary Lord.
Your first stop will definitely be the Great Room, which is every bit as great as its name suggests. The Great Room leads into the gourmet kitchen, a masterpiece of stone and tile work (not to mention gravitational hijinks owing to the Aga stove’s 2,000 lb. suspended limestone exhaust hood).
The home’s open design, accomplished by doorless, stone-arched openings and capacious hallways, allows light to flow throughout. The effect is superb, as the home is constantly illuminated by a warm glow.
That open design will allow you to sashay freely into the domed study, the vividly red dining room, or one of two private courtyards. From the courtyard, you might then enjoy a tour of the three bedrooms, each more stunningly colorful than the last. The master suite features a copper soaking tub, a steam shower room, and a private courtyard with an outdoor shower and a gas fireplace. (Wow.)
But don’t just take my word for it. Check out this virtual tour, too. It’s completely worth it, if only to view more of the wonderful details that set this home apart.
The home is worth it too. At a price of $675,000, it’s an absolute steal for what you’d be getting.
One more bravo for Amy. I asked, she delivered, and now you know all about the West Side wonder that is 5925 Orchard Hills Lane. Happy home buying!
