There’s a “take-it-or-leave-it" quality to 415 Bond Place (unit 12B) — by which, I mean, the loft’s clean surfaces and mid-century design speak for themselves, without need of further embellishment. What you see is what you get, and you’ll know whether you like it at once.
I do. I like the loft’s large windows, mostly because of the views they offer. I like the enormous combined living and dining space. I especially like the geometrical precision of all those clean surfaces; they sing to the little OCD chap in me.
But most of all, I like what you can do with this house. Mid-century design is nothing if not functional, and this condo has functionality in spades. (Perhaps a clumsy syllogism, but it checks out.)
For my purposes, functionality means the ability to entertain. And boy could you do some entertaining here.
- Open space? Check.
- Balcony overlooking the river? Check.
- Gourmet kitchen? Check.
- Custom details and modern finishes? Check.
- Centrally located? Check.
(Ok, it’s not centrally located if you live in Cheviot or Mason. But we’ll give it a pass on that one, because it’s a $4 Uber ride to Fountain Square.)
So what’s it cost to take this 2-bed, 2-bath loft off the market? That’ll be $599,000, please.
